The Town of Brookhaven is auditing the books and cannot tell us when their audit may be completed. They will not certify the amount of money available in our fund balance account, although it is estimated at $69,000, until the audit is completed. This audit is a part of the new leadership’s transition process and will lend credibility to their governance. It is just taking longer than anyone anticipated. Once we receive a formal statement from the Town of Brookhaven, we will request the bid package to be put together.
It should be noted that we can only spend 80 to 85% of whatever monies are in the Fund Balance Account. Based on our records, we feel there will be enough money in our Fund Balance account to complete the project. The Fund Balance account represents monies we have managed to save after paying the landscaper, irrigation maintenance, and water bills each year. This savings has accumulated over several years and will allow us to pay for high cost improvements to the park district without having to borrow.

There will be a new gazebo located on Strathmore Village Drive in the large greenbelt. This new addition was made possible, in part, by our Brookhaven Councilman Steve Fiore-Rosenfeld. Steve gave us a $2,400 grant towards this project and we matched it with another $1,600 from our operating budget. The advisory board approved this betterment to our neighborhood and Steve worked with us to make it happen. Thank you for your support Steve! We anticipate delivery by June 1st. |
The homeowners association will be hosting a meeting at the new village recreation center on May 23rd at 7:30PM. This will be an important meeting, as we will be nominating new officers. The board will also be available to answer your questions and concerns.

Our local government has been supportive to our needs. Take a look around and you will notice repairs to curbs, roads, and street lights. Additionally, the town has come in and trimmed back some overgrown trees. The trees had become a road hazard to pedestrians and traffic. The town will also be trimming the overgrown grass/weeds in the large greenbelt.

The association would like to extend a warm welcome to any new neighbors in our community. Please don’t hesitate to participate in our meetings and/or events. We hope you enjoy your new home and community.

The Homeowners Association is sponsoring a spring celebration on Saturday June 10th. Festivities begin at 11AM and will continue until 2PM. There will be fun for the kids including a giant bounce house from Awesomebouncers.com, hot dogs, hamburgers, and soda.
You will also see members of the homeowners association cleaning up the large greenbelt and repairing some fences. You are welcome to pitch in and help, or simply grab a hot dog and meet your neighbors.
