We pulled it off! The second annual pumpkin patch was a great success.
The original date was rained out and it looked like the rain date was going to be a wash as well.
Luckily the rain held off for a four-hour stretch and we were able to get the event underway.
The whole day was about teamwork. Barbara Gallagher, along with her husband Paul Freeman,
volunteered the largest tent I’ve ever seen an individual own. We set it up and scattered
the nearly 400 pumpkins out in front. We had originally scheduled a bounce house to start at 1:00PM,
but we decided to cancel due to the inclement weather. Thankfully, Don of Awesome Bouncers showed
up and decided the weather had improved enough to set up a 50ft long bouncy house for the kids.
Mind you, he set this up with only an hour and a half left in the event. Before all was said
and done we had dozens of children enjoying a cold and somewhat rainy afternoon.
The civic association would like to thank Michael Ardolino and his team at Coldwell Banker for
contributing the pumpkins and providing our kids with additional gifts. Special thanks also go to
Steven Amato of Premium Capital Funding for providing Halloween flashlights free to all the children. Kathleen Brown of Coach Realtors was also there to provide ribbons to each child who decorated pumpkins. Steve Amato and Kathleen Brown are also residents and zone leaders in our community.

for their choice in the Entranceway Project. We would like to extend the opportunity
one more time as a last chance to participate and have your voice heard. Please fill
out the attached voting slip and mail it to 52 Strathmore Village Drive by December 10, 2005.
All votes received after that date will not be counted.

Michael Ardolino will be hosting a holiday tree lighting on December 3rd at 7PM.
The lighting will take place in the large field on Strathmore Village Drive.
There will be snacks and goodies for the kids. A special thanks goes out to Sheep Pasture Nursery
in Port Jefferson Station for donating the tree.

We now have eleven volunteers for a neighborhood watch. The watch is informal.
We take volunteers whenever they can donate their time, and we are getting close to
having consistent coverage where coverage is needed most. Please email or phone a board
member if you would like to participate in this valuable endeavor. Thanks to community members
getting involved, we’ve already had one neighbor come forward as a witness to an act of
Arson in Levitt Park.

In light of the recent criminal activity, the sixth precinct will be increasing their patrols
in our neighborhood. These patrols will occur during the day as well as at night. They will
be looking at anyone loitering, speeding, or engaged in any other suspicious activities.

The association would like to extend a warm welcome to any new neighbors in our community.
Please don’t hesitate to participate in our meetings and/or events. We hope you enjoy your
new home and community.
